Join the Scituate Historical Society as we welcome John Amrhein, Jr for a presentation on Scituate's Accidental Pirate, "Treasure Island Untold" on Wednesday, September 19th at 7pm at the GAR Hall, 353 Country Way. It happened in 1750. 52 chests of gold pieces of eight were stolen from a Spanish galleon of of North Carolina and carried to the West Indies and buried their, In 1883 Robert Lewis Stevenson published a fictional tale of adventure about an expedition to recover that buried treasure.
