“THE BLIZZARD OF ‘78 AND IT’S IMPACT ON SCITUATE” There have been many storms which have brought feet of snow to New England but there have been few to bring the type of coastal devastation we saw during the Blizzard of ’78. The destruction along our shoreline was unimaginable and the memories will always remain with the residents that lived through it. Recall the dangers and the heroics of the Blizzard of 1978 with new materials from a variety of sources. Paul Scott (retired Scituate DPW Engineer), David Ball (Society President), and Bob Gallagher (Scituate Light Keeper) will present information about how and why that storm was so devastating.
